One of the things I really like about blogging is that it helps me remember. I’m not very good at documenting our lives, and I’m afraid that someday I’m going to be sorry about that. I take a lot of pictures, but for the most part, those pictures just sit on my computer in a disorganized heap. So, in honor of documenting the little moments of our lives, I give you our 2013 beach trip. This year, all of my photos were taken on my phone, so they aren’t as nice as last year’s photos, but sometimes easier is better.
My enjoyment of this trip may have been lessened by this month’s goofy food project. I am roughly halfway through the Whole 30 program. If you are not familiar with it, this program is basically a 30 day
diet “short-term nutritional reset” in which you eliminate all sugar and other sweeteners, dairy, grain, alcohol, legumes, white potatoes and corn. Otherwise known as All The Things I Enjoy. This pretty much leaves you with meat, vegetables, and some fruit. But, they promise this Will.Change.My.Life. And it’s in bold font, so it must be true. I have chosen not to write about it here, because I feel like this…thing is taking up enough of my mental energy already and I don’t really want to give it more space.
Seriously, though, I feel okay. I’m just really tired of meat and veggies. I will say that fruit has started to taste sweeter and I’m not having many sugar cravings. Most of my cravings are for simple things like cheese and crackers or granola. And I really, really like milk in my coffee, you guys. According to the timeline, I should be getting Tiger Blood any day now. I’m not really sure what that means or even if I will know when I have it. I assume it is a good thing and doesn’t refer to a sudden desire to take down a gazelle and tear it apart with my teeth. We shall see.
