This week I’m attempting another recipe from Paul A. Young’s cookbook Adventures with Chocolate–cacao-infused vodka. It is simply a combination of vodka and cacao nibs allowed to soak for a long period of time. I have no idea what I will do with the vodka once it is cacao-infused, but that’s okay because it won’t be ready for more than a month. For the next four weeks, I am supposed to “nurture the vodka.” Curious use there of the word nurture. In this context it simply means that I need to pick it up and shake it once a day. I think I can handle that. Makes one wonder if Paul A. Young has children or pets.
If anyone wants to invite me to a party this spring or summer, I’ll bring chocolate vodka, okay?

If you’re looking for something else to infuse in vodka, this is how I made vanilla! I used vanilla beans I bought off of Amazon and infused them in a huge thing of Titos and now I use it for baking (instead of constantly buying more vanilla at the store)… (-:
Great idea, Catherine!
